I have the honour to forward for your consideration a copy of a draft Ordinance to amend the Fire Brigade Ordinance, 1923. The reasons for the proposed amendment hid. is concerne with the grant of medals to members of the Fire Brigade are set out in the statement of Objects and Reasons attached to the Bill. The Police medals are at present granted by the Governor on the recommendation of the Captain Superintendent of Police

under section 25 of the Police Force Ordinance No.11 of 1900.

Copies of this section and of section 19 and a regulation made thereunder are enclosel for convenience of reference.

2. As the grant of medals is a matter on whid. you may wish to be consulted before any public action is taken, I have thought it desirable to suit the Bill for your

consideration before its introduction into the Legislative

Council.
